Harvest Celebration - Farmer's Market: September 18, 2010!

Location: Open Square Mill 4 Parking Lot

On September 18 from 10 am to 2 pm there will be a harvest celebration at Open Square in Holyoke. A Farmers Market consisting of local and Valley vendors will take place for four hours. Produce from Red Fire Farm and Mountainview Farm as well as eggs from nearby Southwick, beef from Easthampton and mushrooms from Franklin County will be for sale.

GHPCC one block from Open Square

A Consortium of five universities (UMass, MIT, Northeastern, Harvard and Boston University) are building a high performance computing center in Holyoke due to our quality internet access and availability of low-cost and renewable energy. The $150 Million Green High Performance Computing Center (GHPCC) will be located one block from Open Square. Construction of the GHPCC will begin this year and take 18 - 24 months to complete.

Cisco has moved aggressively into the smarter city business in the last year as it chases IBM, which started the vogue for wired cities just as the world's governments were earmarking billions of dollars in stimulus funds for infrastructure.
